Ever wonder why energy codes here in Washington have always been beyond the rest of the country?

Source: Olympia Master Builders

On Thursday you have an opportunity to find out as well as gain some insight on where we are going.

David Hales, Buildings Systems and Energy Specialist from WSU will be the guest speaker at the Built Green meeting at OMB. David has spent the last 3 decades in the construction industry as a home builder, building scientist, and technical trainer.  There are few in this state with his knowledge, background and experience in energy efficient high performance buildings.  An ASHRAE Member, NAHB EVHA Judge, and member of the BPI Standards Committee, David has a rich background not only from an energy perspective but from the builder’s perspective as well.

What did WPPSS have to do with more stringent building codes in our state?  Why do we have our own version of Energy Star that’s different from the rest of the country?  Who is driving these standards?  Where can we expect to be 5 to 10 years from now?  How can builders keep up with these changes and still be profitable?

This is your chance to find out.  Please join the Built Green committee for this informative 1 hour presentation.
